Dovrei installare un kat 200celle sull'EG,premesso che sarà uno sbatti perchè dovro' andare alla mach3 solo per fare un taglia e salda...cosa mi conviene montare?In giro ho trovato i soliti Brain che costano cmq un botto e i Magnaflow che costano un po' meno ma non so come siano...questo tipo
non mi sembra male,è anche piccolino ma non ha nessun paracalore superiore>mi conviene prenderne uno con una paratia per evitare di cuocermi i piedi?

-E' vero che i kat "normali" arrivati a fine vita utile iniziano a sfaldarsi sparando via pezzetti di cat e invece quelli metallici arrivati al momento si tappano sempre + fino a rischiare di fare grossi guai?
-Prima di fare i suddetti "grossi guai" ci si accorge da soli di doverlo cambiare? Il motore inizia a essere fiacco, stanco, cambia il rumore dello scarico?

Materials The catalyst outer casing is made from stainless steel. The interior substrate is made from a vacuum brazed ultra-thin metal foil. The foil itself is a combination of iron, chromium and aluminium. This creates a stainless steel of the highest quality. The susbtrate is therefore far more resilient than ceramic core substrates and so is ideal for performance use. Brazing during the manufacturing process ensures that the core is extremely strong and unlike unbrazed cheaper substrates will not collapse due to 'foil bending'.
100 or 200 cell Units By offering two different cell densities, we can cater for applications that require the best gas flow possible (100 cell) and for those applications with the latest version of 'OBD2' on-board diagnostics (200 cell).
It is fairly simple to decide which sports CAT you require:
Choose a catalyst that can handle the power output of your car at the moment (assuming there will be no more modifications), or, if there are to be more mods, the power output once the car is ready. Bear in mind that if you have twin CATs, each CAT will only need to cope with half the total horsepower!
Check how much space you have to fit the catalyst. If you have limited space, you may have to choose a smaller CAT than would be optimum. However, as the catalysts are more free-flowing than standard CATs, you will still reduce back pressure!
The next step is to decide whether you need 100 cell or 200 cell substrates. 100 cell will give the best gas flow, but remember that for cars with the latest version of "OBD2" on-board diagnostics, you will need 200 cell substrates. You can identify OBD2 CATs by the presence of two lamdba sensors, one on each side of the standard catalyst.
The following advice should be noted when fitting a catalytic converter
* Do not attempt to fit a catalyst unless experienced. Any mistakes could be expensive!
* Do not use exhaust paste in front of the catalyst. Any paste entering the catalyst will damage the substrate. This will immediately invalidate the warranty.
* Do not hit the catalyst with any object during fitting. Catalyst substrates are far more fragile than normal silencer boxes.
* Please use new fittings such as gaskets and nuts and bolts. A fitting kit is often available for each catalyst. This makes fitting the catalyst easier.
* Please contact Jetex if you believe that the catalyst may have to be altered before fitting. Each catalyst should simply replace the original part without the need for modifications. The warranty will be invalidated if any catalyst has been modified without prior notification!
* Each catalyst, as with any exhaust part, should be loosely fitted to check alignment. Only when the catalyst is sitting correctly, should all nuts and bolts be tightened securely. A badly fitted front end often leads to poor fit, which can be exaggerated along the entire exhaust system.
* After fitting a new catalyst, run the vehicle for 20 minutes at fast idle (approx.2000rpm) to allow the matting to expand and apply the correct pressure to the monolith. If this is not done, the monolith may detach from the matting causing it to rattle inside the casing.
