With the minimal amount of Honda S2000s in the drag racing circuit, we are proud to say that we are working hard to set new standards for the S2000 community. InlinePRO built the first S2000 to break the 10 second barrier, and now 9 seconds is our new mission.
Arnold Tamasar joined the inlinePRO race team in June 2006 along with his Suzuka Blue S2000. The car came already built for the track, but being so meticulous about our cars, it was torn down and rebuilt to our standards. With Arnold's help, we have built an S2000 that lays down over 700 horsepower to the rear wheels. The heart of the engine is a signature AllenBuilt motor, personally assembled by Jeremy Allen himself. Sleeved in-house with AEBS close decked sleeves, the block is race ready. With custom designed pistons from CP Pistons, and inlinePRO connecting rods, the block was able to handle over 700 rear wheel horsepower with ease. Mated to the race engine, is a Portflow head courtesy of Tom from Portflow Design. With air flowing freely through the head, we installed inlinePRO springs and inlinePRO titanium retainers allowing the engine to rev out to 10,500rpm.
All the labor involved in Project: 9 Second S2000, was lead by inlinePRO Master Mechanic Mat Keller. Along with assembling the vehicle, he also fabricated the custom manifold, a work of art. This custom manifold consist of 100% stainless steel and is mated to a Turbonetics 72trim turbo forcing the air through. Custom 3 inch charge pipes were also fabricated to direct air through an intercooler. A custom intercooler was also fabricated to provide the maximum cooling capabilites for this turbo setup. After the cool air is combsuted, the exhaust gases exit through a custom 4 inch exhaust also fabricated by Keller. With this amount of power, to ensure the engines stability in the bay, we fabricated solids mounts for the motor.
Once everything is assembled together, the car is now strapped to the dyno. Transferring the power from the engine through the drivetrain is a Exedy Carbon Twin Disc Clutch. Absorbing all the power from the motor are Stage 5 DriveShaft Shop Axles and hubs, thanks to Frank from The DriveShaft Shop.
