Drilled and Grooved: The key benefit of the Drilled & grooved discs is that the brake fade is significantly reduced and the brake discs do not reach very high temperatures. The science behind this is the drilled and grooved discs deglaze the pad and vent gasses that build up between disc and pad during braking. The drillings on the brake disc dissipate heat more effectively giving a noticeable increase in performance compared to standard discs. As for the cosmetics and looks behind the wheel drilled and grooved discs look excellent behind your alloy wheels.
Zinc Coating: All Kinetix sports discs are zinc anodised to prevent the discs from corrosion in areas not swept by the brake pad. Optimum brake performance is realised after the zinc coating has been removed from the pad track area, which can take up to 100 miles. It is normal that a small amount of noise is exhibited from Kinetix slotted rotors when they are first applied. This noise gradually diminishes and at around 1,000 miles of road use the noise will be minimal. By nature of the way this product works, Kinetix sport slotted discs will always make some noise and this is not cause for concern, it is not a safety issue and is not recovered by warranty.
